When an assessment is the right first move

You do not need a strategy deck because someone said “digital transformation.” You need an assessment when a decision is coming, the spend keeps rising, a security or insurance question lands on your desk, or every vendor conversation still routes through the owner.

The spend is real, but the map is missing

You can see the invoices, but nobody can explain what is essential, duplicated, risky, or simply carrying forward because no one stopped it.

A major decision is looming

ERP, cloud, AI, a new location, an acquisition, or a provider change should be sequenced against the business—not sold as a stand-alone project.

Accountability is blurred

Your MSP or internal team may be working hard. The missing piece is often independent direction, priorities, and an executive-level review of the work.

What you receive

The assessment is designed to give leadership a usable decision system, not another report that disappears into a shared drive.

Technology assessment report

A plain-English view of the current environment, what is working, what is not, and where the business is exposed.

Risk register

A prioritized list of security, continuity, vendor, and operational risks—with context for what needs attention first.

Spend map

A working view of recurring technology costs, likely waste, overlapping tools, and questions that should be put back to vendors.

12-month roadmap

A sequenced plan that distinguishes urgent work, foundational work, and projects that should wait.

Executive readout

A leadership conversation that translates the findings into decisions, owners, and next steps.

Option to continue

If execution support makes sense, the assessment credits toward a transformation sprint. If it does not, you still leave with the roadmap.

How the work moves

  1. Listen and gather. I meet the people who own the business context, the technology, and the vendor relationships. Then I review the information that already exists instead of asking the team to build a performance for me.
  2. Map the reality. I connect the systems, spend, risks, projects, and operating habits to the business outcomes they are supposed to support.
  3. Set the order of operations. You receive clear priorities, the reasons behind them, and a realistic 12-month sequence.
  4. Make the next decision easier. We review the findings together so the leadership team knows what to do, what to pause, and what to ask for next.

What it is not

This is not an MSP sales assessment, a hardware quote disguised as a roadmap, or a generic maturity score. I do not sell managed services, software, or infrastructure. That separation is intentional: the recommendations can stay tied to your business rather than anyone’s sales quota.

Technology assessment questions

How much does a technology assessment cost?

The fixed fee is $2,500. It typically takes three to four weeks and includes the assessment report, risk register, spend map, 12-month roadmap, and executive readout.

Will you tell us to replace our MSP?

Only if the evidence supports it. In most cases, clearer priorities and independent accountability make an existing provider more effective. If a change is warranted, I can help run a clean selection process.

What do you need from us?

Access to the people closest to the business and technology decisions, current vendor and spend information where available, and candid answers. You do not need to prepare a polished deck.
